Seaweed on groynes in Wales. Handstitched, appliquéd silk ‘Painting’

This unique embroidered piece was inspired by a visit to the beach wales, I love all the textures of the seaweed clinging to the wooden barriers to the sea. The rich, earthy, shiny colours and bright blue sky provide a great contrast too. Silk is used as my pallet and thread is my paintbrush. The finished artwork is 10cm x 11cm and framed in a colour coordinated frame which is 25cm x 25 cm and is glass less so you can appreciate the textures and markmaking. (Keep out of direct sunlight)
