About me

I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember, and I’m at my happiest when I’m being creative. As a tutor, my aim is simple — I just want you to have the best time making art.

Over the years, art has taken many forms for me. I began my career in London, working as a Design Assistant for Lucienne Day RDI and in the fashion industry. (The photo shows me with one of Lucienne’s designs that I stitched, which was exhibited in London in 2024.)

I’ve since worked as a mural artist, painting more than a hundred murals in children’s play areas, the Garrick Theatre, garden walls and bedrooms, as well as a florist. I’ve also embroidered bespoke artworks for clients including Lichfield Cathedral School and Sir Peter Rigby, creating heirlooms that celebrate milestones, banners for schools, and many other special commissions.
For ten years, I ran After School Art Clubs for Lichfield Cathedral School and was co-owner of Lichfield Art School, where we taught children aged five to GCSE level.

I see art as a wonderful retreat from everyday life — a perfect activity for wellbeing, where you can relax, unwind and create something beautiful at the same time. My workshops are designed to feel like a mini holiday. Everyone is welcome: beginners will be gently guided, and more experienced artists can add their own magical touch. My Artspace studio is a social, feel-good place where creativity flourishes.

As both a contemporary and traditional artist, I sketch, draw, paint and embroider, but also create fine artwork that is thoughtful, informative and often experimental — spanning installation, sculpture, performance and costume.
I’m lucky to have a wonderfully supportive husband, Adam, who built my studio onto the side of our home in Lichfield (mainly to get the mess out of the house, I suspect!), and two amazing artistic children — Arthur, a filmmaker, and Pearl, a comic artist — who help keep me inspired and up to date.

I hold an HND in Design Crafts from Cumbria College of Art and Design, and an MA in Fine Art (Distinction) from Derby University. I’m fully DBS checked, insured up to £5 million, and also work freelance at Ingestre Hall Residential Art Centre.
(Below is part of my final MA exhibition piece.)
