Artist and Designer - Henrietta Ellis specialises in hand stitching, creating illustrations of intricate, jewel like embroideries.
Like theatre sets, with layers of juxtaposed scenes, the eye is drawn in. Look closer and more detail is revealed. Working directly from the design, layers of silk fabric are appliqued on to a wool felt background. Hand stitching with simple running and back stitch, a small world is created.
Henrietta has an HND in Design Crafts.

Some of the local schools Henrietta has worked with;

Brownhills - St James Primary
Walsall - Phoenix EBD School
Henrietta managed to take all the information I'd thrown at her and make it a cohesive, intricate, bespoke piece of artwork. Nothing short of a miracle!
Henrietta planned a super rainforest art day for my year 4 class to tie in with their Geography topic. The children were fully engaged all day making colourful bugs, butterflies, leaves and flowers using loads of different techniques. We now have a fantastic 3D display that is very much admired in our school.
